Laura Brian

Hello! I’m Laura, a photographer located in charming little San Luis Obispo County, CA.

I have spent most of my life immersed in the arts, starting early in opera and piano lessons. I attended Cal Poly and majored in English (and now, I can write biographies for my website with the correct comma usage... yay!).

Growing up, I would have never imagined that my “grown up job” would be something that lets me fly free with creativity while also making incredible friends in the process. Is it awkward if I force us to be friends?… because I believe that that the relationship between photographer and client should not just be “photographer and client.” I know how nerve-racking it can be to stand in front of a camera… especially when you don’t connect with the person on the other side. That’s why I set out not just to be your photographer… I want to be someone you know you can strike serious diva poses in front of… someone you can twirl around and joke with… someone who will not only photograph you, but support you when things start to feel stressful. Beauty can be found anywhere… in love, in excitement, in chaos, and even in sadness. But beauty is lost the second fear and anxiety take over. My job is to help you combat your self-doubt and help you find your courage and confidence.

When I’m not wandering around with a camera, you can find me watching movies with my wonderful husband and 3-year old, writing K-Pop music, spinning around on my hardwood floor in my socks, or singing Broadway tunes.
